ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) and All Nysihi Students' Union (ANSU) that the Commissioner, Secretary and members of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) will be suspended after a Cabinet meeting is held.

This was informed by the ANSU president Nabam Dodum who, along with the AAPSU members, held a meeting at the State Civil Secretariat with the Chief Minister regarding their charters of demand in regards to the APPSC AE (Civil) question paper leak mess.

Speaking to the reporters, Dodum said that the CM has assured to suspend the Commissioner, Secretary and members of the commission after a Cabinet meeting. Subsequently, the CM will forward a letter for termination to the Governor for his approval.

He also said that the demand of the unions on the shutdown of the commission office will be served by the suspension of under secretary, deputy secretary, and others by the CM.

"The CM has assured for the suspension of every official of the commission under his ambit by today. However, as the commission is an autonomous body, other major decisions for the suspension of Commissioner, Secretary, and members will be taken by the Governor," he said. Dodum has appealed to the aspirants and the public to be patient in regard to the demand for CBI inquiry. The case has been recommended to the CBI but it will take a while as it has to be approved by the Central Government.

"We have also appealed to the CM for comprehensive investigations of the APPSC cases of 2014 and 2017 along with the recent case by the CBI. Most importantly, the investigation should be made against Minoty Borang, who is the wife of Tama Saroh," he said, adding that the report of a high-level committee constituted by the State Government doesn't have much impact as SIC has done a proper investigation and now it has been recommended to the CBI.

Meanwhile, AAPSU president Tana Dozi Tara said that the message is absolutely clear that any future exams conducted by the commission will not be held under the present incumbent commissioner, secretary, and members.
